Unique Personal Project
Packaging Design and Printmaking
These little gifts were made using salt that was brought home from a recent trip to Peru's Maras Salt Flats. The patterns printed on the labels required research and practice of an ancient Japanese printmaking technique called Suminagashi. This practice, which translates to “floating ink”, is made by placing tiny drops of ink into water and gently manipulating the natural designs to create these completely unique, unrepeatable patterns. This packaging project was made as a one-off, for friends and family. We love to grow our knowledge base by learning new (and old) techniques that we can bring to our projects and make our clients brands stand out from the rest.
